Our mission
To allocate grants and fund projects for animal rescues, supporting organizations that lower euthanasia rates in animal shelters and help families keep their pets during times of hardship that would otherwise force pets into the shelters.
Our origin
Filomena Farms, founded in 2018 by Sami Monsur, is a 501(c)(3) organization based in San Jose, CA. The inspiration behind Filomena Farms can be attributed to Sami's late Rottweiler, Filomena, pronounced FEE-LOW-MEH-NAH (or Filo for short). Although her days have come to an end, Filomena continues to serve as our honorary mascot. Sami and our Board of Directors carry out the Filomena Farms mission to honor her memory. We'd love for you to read Filo's Story so you can glimpse the heart behind our organization.

Because of Filomena, Sami became involved with many different animal rescues and saw how hard the volunteers worked. The effort and money these organizations spend trying to saves lives made Sami think of different ways to help. That is how Filomena Farms began. By helping rescue organizations with fundraising, we hope to increase their ability to concentrate on saving animals. Simply put, we exist to help humans help animals.
Our fundraising vision
Filomena Farms depends on the generosity of our donors, grants and fundraising events to provide funding for small and medium sized rescues in need. We are dedicated to providing an open and transparent grant program.
